Your fountain of life

Psalm 63 vs 2-4 (The Message) So here I am in the place of worship, my eyes are wide open and I am drinking in your strength and glory. In Your generous love I am really living at last!    My lips brim praise like fountains. I bless You every time I take a breath. My arms wave like banners of Praise to You.

We are all made of 3 parts, body, soul (our emotions, our will, our intellect) and spirit.

We feed our body often, some of us look after our bodies more than others, by feeding it with good food & exercise.

We feed our soul often, by reading a great book, watching a great movie, having great conversations with good people.

But what about our spirit?  If we don’t feed it regularly, it won’t be a fountain of life, because there will be no life in there to ‘fountain’ out.

When I pray I feed my spirit.

When I read God’s word I feed my spirit.

When I worship, I feed my spirit.

When  I am in an environment of faith, I feed my spirit.

As Christians we should not just go through life relying on our giftings, everyone has a gift, even people who are against God. No, we should rely on what is in our spirit. And if it’s not there, it won’t come out.

My husband always says that what you learn in the light, you can practise in the dark. Which means that as you continually feed your spirit with great things; when you hit a ‘dark’ time in your life, you can call on that to help you through.

The enemy of our souls wants to keep our well of life, our fountain, ‘damned’ up with worry & depression & fear & sin.

Keep that fountain fed and you’ll keep that fountain flowing.

Reach down into your belly and tell it to praise.

Be a life-giver to everyone you meet. Let life flow out of you every day. Even in the dark times.

Don’t skip the floors

I’m sure in life we all want to get from the Bargain Basement to the Penthouse Suite.

But, if you want to go up the floors, you have to deal with the flaws.

One of the biggest flaws in anyone’s life can be that of a bad attitude.

Your attitude will determine your altitude in life, I’m sure you’ve heard that.
Sadly, some of us don’t bother, think it doesn’t matter, say “I can please myself”….. well you can please yourself, that’s just it.
Our attitude DOES matter, and sometimes we have to go against what our natural self wants, in order to reach for higher things.

So today, remember your attitude IS a choice, IT’S YOURS.

And if you want to reach for the Penthouse, keep it like that of Christ Jesus.

Faithfulness & Loyalty

These 2 go hand in hand. And there is a difference.

Miriam & Aaron were faithful to Moses (family) . She was a good sister, she helped save his life. She led the celebration across the Red Sea. She was his worship leader. She was faithful.
But, she wasn’t very loyal. She spoke out against Moses.
God got angry and she got leprosy.

Faithfulness is about actions.. it’s about stickability.. it’s about what you do day to day.
Loyalty is about your heart… loyalty goes deeper.. loyalty is a deeper decision than faithfulness

If loyalty didn’t mean much to God, why would He get angry with a faithful person like Miriam?

God’s looking for a people to be faithful AND loyal

Love the attitude

I love Esther’s attitude in Esther 4 v 16.. “If I perish, I perish”.
(In modern day English, “What the heck”)
Whatever the cost I AM going to make a difference.
Have the same attitude.
